The responsibility of hope
I've been making it a practice to pull cards for my Oracle Activation cohort at the end of each mediumship development circle.
In addition to individual assignments, I channel a message for our group - a message that I am being encouraged by my guía, Amalia, to share with you.
It is our duty as Spiritists, as Espiritista, to maintain Hope.
Faith, Hope, and Charity are the tenants of Spiritism. The seeds from which this tradition is practiced, from which it blooms. Nihilism isn't an option when you are an Espiritista. That's not to say that doubt and fear don't creep in. We are only human, after all.
But it is essential, as Espiritista, to make Hope one's guiding force in navigating through this world.
It is our responsibility, as people who navigate the liminal spaces, people who open that door up for others as well, to maintain Hope.
It is Hope that gives us the courage to conceive a different world for ourselves, for each other.
It is Hope that gives us the tenacity to take action to bring that better world to life.
It is Hope that grants us the clarity to see the actions we can take, big and small, to make this world an equitable, communal, compassion place.
It is Hope that grants us the courage to take those actions.
Nihilism is an easier path, it's true. But I would rather die wrong and Hopeful, knowing that the choices I have made in this lifetime came from the belief that we deserve better. That we deserve beautiful. That we deserve abundant. Peaceful. Joyful.
Not only that we deserve it, but that it is promised. Not that it is possible, but that it is happening. That even if I do not get to enjoy the fruits of this labor, that the generations who come after will.
So my challenge to you, my little Mystic, is to find the things, the people, the practices that fan the flame of Hope inside of you. To protect that Hope fiercely. And to share your Hope fearlessly.
All my Love,
Mami 🌹
