A CHANNELED RITUAL FOR ABOLITION

One June night, the spirit of one of my dearest guides came over me. I blacked out while they used my body and my voice to craft a ritual. I only returned to to my flesh when the preparations were complete.

At the time, protests against police brutality were becoming increasingly violent, more and more protesters were being arrested and hurt. Things have obviously continued to escalate from that night and the road ahead is long.

This same spirit recently instructed me to recreate the ritual and to share it with my community. She shows me the Three of Pentacles and says that when the collective participates together spiritually in their unique ways toward the same goal, the spirits have greater influence in connect us to the changes that we seek. The repetition and consistency of our rituals, spells and prayers support and amplify the work of the living who are fighting for an equitable, just world.

Because I was not in my body for the original ritual, I asked that they please instruct me on how to share it with you. What was channeled are the guidelines you see below. Please note, these are just a guideline. I did the ritual specifically regarding police (and when I say police, I mean not just the Police, but all of the systems intertwined with them - Prison industrial complex, jail, our court system, Sheriffs, ICE, detention centers).  You may use this for anyone you so desire to hex. Proud boys, heavily armed white supremacists and racist militias, violent counter protesters, 45 and all his friends, 2020 has given us plenty to choose from, yes? :) Listen to your spirits and guides on how to make this all your own.

The most potent magick is personal magick.

**Materials:**1 Red 7 Day Glass Candle

1 Black Sharpie

Petition Paper*Pen

An Offering**

• I use brown paper shopping bags that i cut to size for petition paper. You can use any paper you have handy.

• *An offering does not need to be something you spend money on. It can be a song, a poem, a letter, a gratitude list, a piece of fruit from your kitchen, a cup of coffee, etc. Ask your spirits, follow your intution.

Optional:

Oils and herbs for dressing your candle

A card to represent each of the following: -The Police (or the Police State, or whomever you focus your spell on)

-Warrior and Guardian Spirits of Protection

-The Warriors Tools or Weapons

Guidelines:

Carve any protection sigils or symbols that come to you into the top of the candle. Use a sharp pencil, a chopstick, a pin…whatever you have handy.

If you are using oils and herbs, dress the candle with them now.

Take your Sharpie and draw 7 daggers or swords or axes (or machetes or crosses…whatever feels right to you) in the same configuration as the image below.

As you draw the daggers onto the candle, repeat a prayer or incantation for your intentions. Continue repeating your prayer or incantation for the duration of the ritual.

When I did the original spell, I wrote my prayer directly on the candle in sharpie, along with the daggers. Light the candle and if you desire to write a petition on a petition paper, do so now. If working with a petition paper, you may want to fold the paper away from you and place under the candle.

If you are working with divination cards, first place the card for the police face up, then the card for the weapons on top, face up. Place the candle on top of the stack of cards, and lean the card representing the warrior spirits against it.

Keep the candle lit and burning on your altar whenever you are able to safely and responsibly monitor it burning (don't leave your candles unattended, friends). Be sure to recite your prayer or invocation everytime you relight the candle. Just before the candle has burned down completely, take your petition out from under the candle, and light it on fire with the candle's flame. Set it in a fire-safe dish or cauldron and allow it to burn completely.

When the candles are done, collect all of the waste from your spell and leave it at the cemetery with your dead, at a crossroads, or at the very least at a trash can away from your home or workspace. If you are reusing the divination cards, be sure to clear them before returning them to your deck.

When you are finished, be sure to thank and dismiss the spirits in attendance. If you cast a circle, close it.

Prayer for the Police Abolition

I call upon the Spirits of the Warriors, the Guardians, the Protectors

The Spirits of the Revolutionaries and the Resistance, no stranger to battle to defend your communities from the violence of colonialism, racism, fascism and imperialism

The Spirits of Ancient Warriors, Social Justice Leaders, Communists, Anarchists, Zapatistas

I ask that you be here with me now. Hear my cry out into the dark night

I call now for the abolition of Police, of the Police State

I call for the abolition of all police, sheriffs, federal agents, ICE, detention centers and prisons

May the police and all racist institutions be destroyed with the same force which it destroyed the cultures, identities, land and futures of those they policed

I call for the protection of all Black people, all Indigenous People, all Trans people, all marginalized people and especially the most vulnerable among us

I call for the protection of protestors, activists and organizers

I pray for protection over our bodies and spirits in our homes as we rest, on our routes as we travel whether by foot, bike, car, train, boat, plane

Spirits of the Revolution, please accept my offering of __________ and in exchange, carry out my petitions with the Divine Sources of All Creation

I cast my intention up to the heavens so we may receive the blessings here on earth.
