Before you are able to participate in the Moonshadows discord, it’s important you read the guidelines and drop your initials in the “guidelines” channel.

IMPORTANT: GROUP GUIDELINES - MUST REVIEW WITHIN 24 HOURS OF JOINING

📌 Please read the guidelines for the Moonbeams Discord server.

✅ Please keep discussions on topic: Espiritismo, queer spirituality, mediumship, spellcasting, spirits, gods, and guides, ancestral veneration, cartomancy and other divination, etc. as it is related to these practices.

✅ Please be clear about the support you are seeking: to be witnessed without feedback? critique? conversation? affirmation? ideas? feedback? I encourage community members to begin their shares with “Looking for [insert xyz here]”. Having our wishes stated clearly upfront helps the group respect one another’s needs.

✅ Misogynoir, anti-Blackness, racism, xenophobia, transphobia are not tolerated in this space. Participating in these behaviors will result in your access to the discord server, course materials, and all future live classes revoked without refund.

✅ Please do not request free readings or healings in this group - this group is for learning, sharing, and asking questions about the occult. There are many professional healers and readers in this group who do this work to support their livelihood, and I encourage you to support their businesses. However, out of respect for all of the healers and readers here, requesting free spiritual labor is not allowed in this group.

✅ If you would like help from Kaitlyn and the group in interpreting a Tarot, oracle, or cartomancy spread - please post in the #🃏divination-den a picture of the spread and offer your interpretation first along with the question- and the cards -and their positions- if you are only posting pictures of your cards without attempting to interpret first, your post will be deleted.

✅ Practice readings and reading exchanges between members are not prohibited, however they are not endorsed by Kaitlyn or Mother of Mystics. If you exchange readings with another member, Mother of Mystics and Kaitlyn do not take responsibility for your experience. I’m not anti-practice or anti-exchange, but please know that you do so at your own risk.

✅ If you are a healer, reader, or spiritual practitioner, you’re welcome to share workshops, services, and other links on the #🌟promote-yourself . Let’s keep this environment spam-free and solicitation-free.

✅ Let's do our best to keep our Office Hours shares limited to 3 minutes. I want to make sure everyone gets a chance to share who wants to share, and that we are considerate of one another's time. I will be using a timer for our next live meeting to keep it fair for everyone.

✅ If what you are sharing may be triggering to the group, please offer a trigger warning before your share so that folks have the option to opt out of the conversation. Shares involving references to suicidal ideation, disordered eating, violence, sexual assault, etc must have a trigger warning. Please refrain from sharing the details of these difficult experiences, especially when the details may be triggering to other members of the group.

In live meetings, please announce "trigger warning [insert topic here]". Before proceeding with your share, Kaitlyn will give participants time to exit or walk away from the meeting before asking you to proceed with your share.

On Discord, Trigger warnings should note the topic, then be followed by a few rows of periods so that folks who want to scroll past can without accidentally reading the body text. **

✅ Our live meetings and discord community do not have capacity to support active crisis, be it your own or someone else’s that you are personally in community with. Working with our our spirits and crafts may bring up some big feels or difficult emotions, however this space is not an appropriate one for shares about active crisis.

*Active Crisis: The active crisis state is characterized by disequilibrium and normally involves the following: physical and psychological agitation (e.g., disturbed appetite and/or sleep, impaired concentration and problem-solving ability, anxiety, depression, psychosis, hallucinations, suicidal ideation, etc) that is currently and actively happening.

📌 Though it is not possible to guarantee the safety of our space, we can take important steps to create a space that centers empathy, open communication, and mutual support. Kaitlyn and Mother of Mystics, the facilitators of this space, is committed the work necessary to cultivate a nurturing environment for our community members. Please reach out via our feedback form or private message to Kaitlyn if you see or experience anything that could be in violation of our community guidelines. Violations of the community guidelines may result in removal from the remainder of this membership without refund.

✅ The intention of Moonshadows Discord Community is to create an environment that is supportive of member's questions, unique circumstances, backgrounds, and desire for connection to and receiving wisdom from the Good Spirits channeled within this space.

✅ Together, we cultivate an affirming environment by:

  • Centering the voices of our most marginalized members first and foremost

  • Acknowledging the inherent dignity in all of us, remembering that there are real humans behind these screens

  • Encouraging the freedom of radically authentic self expression, acknowledging that authenticity is often messy and perfection is never required

  • Using welcoming and inclusive language when engaging with individuals and the larger community. This includes not using gendered language when addressing the group, and refraining from participating in misogynoir and digital blackface.

  • Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences

  • Referring to people by their stated pronouns or using gender neutral pronouns when uncertain

  • Showing up authentically by aligning our spiritual practices with our lineages and cultural backgrounds, refraining from misappropriation of practices that do not belong to us, and being open to receiving kind and constructive feedback from our community when we are misappropriating traditions, sacred practices, and ancestral wisdom.

  • Gracefully accepting constructive (in good faith) criticism

  • Gracefully giving constructive and in good faith criticism

  • Showing empathy toward other workshop participants

  • Pursuing avenues of transformative justice and repair in conflict

    Request Format

    Who: Name of person needing prayer (could be yourself or someone else or a descriptor ie “my mom” or “my friend”) and any potential TW/ CW Root: what part of their request may be part of a larger problem (could be specific to them or a systemic thing like generational trauma, misogyny etc) Fruit: what good things out of this do they want i:e peace of mind, strength to set boundaries etc

    Follow Up Reboot: a small reflection after they feel the situation has resolved itself and can be spiritual takeaways to see if this helps someone else.
