The Seeker of Swords
The Seeker of Swords brings us sudden news. This may come to us through external influences (word of mouth, media, messages, emails, etc) or through the spirit (a sudden knowing, or awareness or clarity that you did not possess before).
The truths that come to your awareness may not be the most comfortable or ideal. Sometimes our expectations don't match up with the realities presented to us, and that's okay.
Rather than seeing this as a "failure" (and what is failure anyway?? who decides this for us??) is it possible that this is an opportunity to reimagine all or part of the plan?
Is it possible that this disruption isn't to hold you back, but to help you realign your vision with your personal truth?
The Seeker of Swords did not come to us alone. They arrive with La Gran Diosa. A Mesoamerican earth deity of the realms of Fertility, Abundance, and the Underworld.
La Gran Diosa reminds us that the Sword is a Seed, and that her soil is bountiful and dense with nutrients. That we may feel the sting of the sword's blade right now, but there is more for us that just this point of pain.
She tells us that the energy of the moment is ripe with magic, and invites us to take our reaction to this newfound clarity and channel it into tending to our gardens of intentions.
You might not even know what to do with this realization at the moment, and that's okay. Take that confusion to the altar and ask for further clarity. Or better yet, ask for guidance in how to respond to what you know now.
We are constantly receiving loads of difficult, sad, and violent news - because white supremacy wont stop being violent, and because social media delivers it by the second. This week it feels particularly amplified and heavy. The Seeker of Swords affirms that we might not know what to do with all of this information as it pours in.
The Seeker of Swords takes imperfect action as best they know how. They keep their minds and hearts open to correction, to alternate perspectives and insights.
La Gran Diosa reminds us that even in the midst of this difficulty, there are windows of opportunity with the realms of spirit. That we may hold our sorrows close and hold our dreams close, too. We can weep for what is happening, and pray for what is to come.
She tells us that she will hold us while we mourn. And invites us to drop our prayers and petitions into the pools of creation.
She tells us that it may seem difficult or pointless even to dream of a different future. But that it is our Hope, our Faith, in the possibilities of a world beyond empire, that helps us to take the actions to bring that world about.
Something else that calls out is the bird imagery that these two cards share.
They are inviting us to literally give some of our attention to listening to the birds. Messengers of the heavens, the birds (especially during the Spring) talk not only to each other, but to those of us who will listen as well.
Like nature's own guided meditation. Give it a try for yourself and you will see (or hear)! They are happy to share their messages, insights, and wisdom - and their messages are abundant. The more you listen, the clearer their messages become!
I find that the birds are the chattiest at dawn, but the blessing of Springtime and Summer is that you will hear them throughout the day.
I hope that you enjoyed today's channel, and I hope that you find yourself outside today, if only for a few deep breaths.
I love you, your spirits love you, your ancestors love you.
