Ghosts of the Past
October 11-17:
8 of Hearts, 7 of Diamonds, 7 of Clubs, 10 of Spades
Emotions are at an all time high this week. Be gentle with yourself. Take things slowly. You may find that you are being visited often by ghosts of the past. These may manifest as memories, dreams, visits from literal spirits, past life visions.
They may also manifest in the return of old habits, the return of grief, the realization of ancestral “curses.” Remember that all families have “curses." Human beings are complex, history is complex. These manifest as multi-generational trauma, trauma that has embedded itself into our DNA, paralleled or intersecting experiences of suffering.
This is a good week to put an end to the cycles you are ready to disrupt and disconnect from. A cord cutting, a cleansing bath, a ritual clearing, petitioning the assistance of your spirits - there is no one way to do this work. The process will be as unique as the issue it is addressing.
Be sure to call out to your spirits directly and by name if you know them. Now is not the time to leave the invitation into our homes wide open to the other side of the veil.
Lean into the gentle nurturing of the rose to see you through.
October 18-24:
Jack of Clubs, 4 of Spades, Queen of Hearts, Jack of Clubs
The tempo of the month may be a little to fast for you once week three comes around. Take a moment, take a deep breath and ask yourself: is this desire to rush coming because I need to do more? Or is it coming from the expectation that I should be doing more? And what is the origin of that expectation?
It’s likely that this pressure isn’t coming from you, your spirits, or your calling - it’s coming from living in a world where we have been cruelly tricked into believing that our productivity is related to our worth.
Listen…we are stuck participating in this oppressive capitalist machine (for now). Even if you are consciously divesting from capitalism and colonialism, old conditioning dies hard.
This week calls on you to explore your relationship with rest and to enforce your boundaries with anyone or anything that presses you to work harder than you want or need to.
The scales seem tipped in favor of those in your community (of the spirit and/or the living) who support and encourage your need for rest.
A little thyme under your pillow will assist in more restorative rest.
